blogSTAR is a website created to enable the entrants in the OSTAR 2009 to share their stories with those at home, family, friends and other sailors.
The website is kept intentionally simple, its power lies in the functionalities offered to the sailor who will be able to send stories or photos using satellite phone, mobile phone (when in range) or SSB radio at no cost at all. The sailor can even simply call to leave audio messages direcltly on blogSTAR.
The shore editors will keep everyone up to date with the latest developments feeding news and commentaries as the race develops.
The Team
Marco Nannini works in investment banking and has entered OSTAR. Marco is blogSTAR founder and Institute of Cancer Research funraiser.
Seán O'Connell has a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Maths from University College Dublin, Ireland and has worked with Microsoft, Lotus and Fujitsu among others. He now lives in Switzerland where he works as a full-time Drupal developer and IT consultant.
Enrico Vazzoler works as a Network Infrastructures Engineer at a leading Italian IT firm and doubles as freelance photographer with a preference for sport and music events, architecture and innovative photographic techniques.
Marco Torrero is the founder and owner of Italian based E20 - Eventi e Comunicazione, a company specialising in events and promotion, graphics and multimedia, press office and public relation services.
Jamie McDonald Liegeois is a class 2006 UKSA Ocean Graduate manager of Vortex Yachting and Crew Central
